An extinct neodiapsid species from the Early Triassic Maji-Ya-Chumvi formation of Coast Province, Kenya. The generic name is derived from the name of the country,Kenya in which the only known specimen was found, and Greek sauros, meaning "lizard". The specific name is derived from locality of Mariakani where the specimen was found.

Kenyasaurus is a relatively small, lightly built, generally lizard-like form.

The specimen was discovered by Mr Gubek, a geology student at Makerere University, Uganda and donated to the National Museums of Kenya by Professor R. MacDonald of Makerere University.
